Funding the Net Zero Transition: What are Financiers Looking for in Green Real Estate Investments?
September 14 @ 7:00 PM BST
Net zero continues to be a buzzword in the industry and while there is appetite for the transition to zero carbon in the real estate sector, the key barrier continues to be the lack of access to financing. Investors, on the other hand, are setting ambitious targets themselves to invest in green projects and support the decarbonisation of buildings globally.
This webinar will address the seeming disconnect between the green finance that is available and the projects that are getting financed, and provide insight into what considerations financial institutions are taking when evaluating potential green investments. Participants will learn what criteria investors use, how to better prepare to access green financing, how new developments and refurbishment projects can be packaged up for investors, and how other companies have done it successfully to date.
The panel will answer questions such as:
• What banks and financial institutions are looking for when evaluating potential green building investments?
• What are the perceived risks for financing green buildings?
• What do companies need to do to secure green financing for green buildings? At what stage should they approach financial institutions?
• What scale is needed to secure investment?
The panel will include speakers from Standard Chartered Bank, Lloyds Bank, the International Finance Corporation and Project Etopia, and will be moderated by Sintali-SGS.
