A Place

A Place

ASYA Design prides itself in being a pioneer of green architectural design in Manila and its own headquarters stands as a symbol of this commitment. The 12-story office building is resource efficient, communicating the company’s values toward sustainable architecture. The headquarters serves the green building market in the Philippines and has an entire floor dedicated to tenants who work in the retail industry for green products. The building maximizes space and natural daylight, while also conserving natural resources. ASYA created a coral-like design on the façade of the building to remind the public of the rich biodiversity of coral reefs.

The building uses passive design features such as less glazing and building orientation to keep the building cooler during warm days. Other green features reduce energy and water use, resulting in lower utility bills for ASYA . The building has reflective paint and higher thermal performance glass on the exterior of the building to conserve energy. A Place is also expected to reduce its water use by up to 77 percent with the help of a rainwater harvesting system that covers the entire roof as well as grey and black water treatment and recycling systems.

As an inspiration for other companies who want to go green, ASYA is proud to live out its mission by starting with its own office. ASYA and its employees are committed to building a sustainable future for the Philippines from the buildings constructed to encouraging environmentally-friendly lifestyles for those who live in the country. The building was awarded Best Mixed-Use Office Project at the Philippine Urban Land Institute Healthy Places in 2016. A Place has received final EDGE certification from the Philippine Green Building Initiative.
