Acereto is a collection of homes in a 12-story residential tower with eight different styles for a total of 132 units. Designed by DSB Arquitectos and developed by AG Construction and Design S.A.S., the project is located in a quiet area of the Cedritos neighborhood of Bogotá close to nearby amenities needed for everyday life. In addition to the energy and water-saving solutions that have been selected through EDGE, the project features a green roof, pedestrian paths and a garden to connect residents to the natural environment. The building, which does not require heating or cooling to provide thermal comfort, is made of honeycomb clay blocks, a material which is advantageous from a low-carbon perspective.
AG Construction and Design S.A.S. is committed to designing quality architectural spaces that save resources in all stages of project construction. Acereto has received a preliminary EDGE certificate from CAMACOL.
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
Reduced window to wall ratio, reflective paint/tiles for roof, external shading devices, high-efficiency boiler for hot water and energy-saving lighting systems.
Low-flow showerheads, low-flow faucets and dual flush water closets.
Honeycomb clay blocks with internal and external plaster and in-situ reinforced wall, and partial ceramic tile for flooring.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
