Atlantic Tower
Situated in the heart of Airport City, Accra’s rapidly growing commercial hub, the 13-story Atlantic Tower is a secure building with world-class features and technologies. Developed by Wahhab Estate Co. Ltd, Atlantic Tower represents the government’s efforts to make Accra a central hub for business in West Africa. The tower offers a prime location for tenants, who have access to nearby malls, hospitals, hotels and other office buildings.
The tower conserves energy with such passive design features as external shading devices and includes energy-efficient air conditioning and occupancy sensors, while water use is expected to be reduced by more than half by using water-efficient fixtures. Construction materials such as aluminum profile cladding for external walls will also reduce embodied energy in materials. These green measures ultimately bring value to the tenants of the Atlantic Tower, who can expect their utility bills to be cut nearly in half compared to the cost of a conventional office building.
Wahhab Estate Co. Ltd is part of Meridian Group, a real estate firm with over 30 years of experience developing office, hotel and residential properties across Ghana. Atlantic Tower has received final EDGE certification from thinkstep-SGS.

Technical Solutions
Energy
External shading devices, higher thermal performance glass, variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system, energy-saving lighting and occupancy sensors.
Water
Low-flow showerheads, dual flush water closets and water-efficient urinals.
Materials
Concrete filler slabs for floor and roof construction, aluminum profile cladding and curtain walling for external walls and plasterboards on metal studs for internal walls.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
