Bluewater Lagos
A joint venture between the African Capital Alliance (ACA) and Elalan Group, Bluewater Lagos is a three-phase, mixed-use development in the Lekki Phase 1 area of Lagos. The first phase of the project is a 17-story residential tower, Sapphire, with ground floor ancillary spaces, a swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, a children’s playground, and a landscaped recreational park.
Residents of Sapphire’s 124 units will benefit from the resource-efficient design of the building, lowering their carbon footprint and saving on utility bills. Thermal performance glass, energy-efficient lighting and cooling systems will reduce the apartment’s energy use, while low-flow faucets and dual flush water closets will reduce the apartment’s water consumption.
ACA, a leading investment firm in Sub-Saharan Africa, is committed to the sustainable development of the region. The firm is partnering with the Elalan Group, a construction and civil engineering firm that is passionate about delivering innovative solutions to its clients. Together, they are determining the resource-efficient technologies that are best suited to their customers, for the benefit of the environment.
Bluewater Lagos has received a preliminary EDGE certificate from thinkstep-SGS.

Energy Savings*
Water Savings
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
Technical Solutions
Energy
Reduced window to wall ratio, energy-saving lighting in internal and external spaces, reflective paint on the roof and a variable refrigerant volume cooling system.
Water
Dual-flush water closets and low-flow showerheads and washbasin faucets.
Materials
In-situ reinforced concrete slabs for floor and roof, and medium-weight, hollow concrete blocks for internal and external walls.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
