Centro Tecnológico – Campus Independencia
Servicio Nacional de Adiestramiento en Trabajo Industrial (SENATI), an institution providing education and training to the industrial manufacturing sector, has opened a new educational facility in the Independencia district of Lima. The 10-story Centro Tecnológico – Campus Independencia expands SENATI’s educational offerings.
Aligned with SENATI’s commitment to lowering its environmental impact and reducing its carbon footprint, the building utilizes resource-efficient design features and technologies. LED lighting, an energy-efficient air conditioning system and roof insulation reduce the building’s energy use, while dual-flush water closets, water-efficient urinals and low-flow faucets reduce the building’s water use.
The building was developed by sustainability consultant EFIZITY, construction was managed by Binswanger Perú and the resource-efficient technologies were installed by ENGIE.
Centro Tecnológico – Campus Independencia has received EDGE Advanced certification from GBCI.

Technical Solutions
Energy
Reduced window to wall ratio, reflective paint/tiles for the roof, insulation of the roof, low-e coated glass, natural ventilation for corridors, a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system and energy-saving lighting in internal and external spaces.
Water
Dual-flush water closets, water-efficient urinals and low-flow faucets.
Materials
Concrete filler slab with polysterene blocks for the floor and roof, in-situ reinforced concrete slab for the roof, honeycomb clay blocks with plaster and in-situ reinforced internal and external walls and ceramic tile flooring.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
