Ciruelo
Ciruelo is a housing project located in the General Ciudad Country Urban Development Project outside of Santiago de Cali, Colombia. The location of the project allows for public transport access, generous outdoor green spaces, sports facilities and bike paths. It consists of a total of 320 apartments with an average floor space of 69 square meters.
The project was developed by Jaramillo Mora Constructora, a local real estate development company with a focus on sustainable construction to mitigate climate change.
By incorporating modern construction technologies such as reflective paints for external walls, external shading devices, natural ventilation systems, the use of energy-saving appliances such as LED lightbulbs and water-efficient plumbing features, the project was able to significantly reduce its energy and water consumption, resulting in a more sustainable construction project and a reduced carbon footprint.
Ciruelo has received a Preliminary EDGE Certificate from the Colombian Chamber of Construction (CAMACOL).

Technical Solutions
Energy
Reduced window to wall ratio, reflective paint for external walls, external shading devices, natural ventilation with operable windows, and energy-saving light bulbs for external and internal spaces.
Water
Low-flow showerheads, low-flow faucets for kitchen sinks and all bathrooms, and single flush for water closets.
Materials
In-situ reinforced concrete for internal and external walls, and in-situ reinforced concrete slabs for roof and floor construction, ceramic tiles for flooring, and aluminum window frames.
