Delta Centre – World Bank Group Office Nairobi
The Delta Centre – World Bank Group Office in Nairobi is the second largest building owned by the World Bank Group, after its headquarters in Washington, DC. The office hosts nearly 300 staff working on national, regional and global investments for the World Bank and IFC.
Aligned with the World Bank Group’s commitment to sustainability, its office in Nairobi was designed and constructed to conserve natural resources and reduce its environmental impact. The Delta Centre office first achieved LEED Certification for Commercial Interiors in 2015. The building has now demonstrated compliance with EDGE certification. Because it is a retrofit, the building has earned 96 percent savings in embodied energy in materials. LED lighting and occupancy sensors in open offices reduce the building’s energy use, while dual-flush water closets and water-efficient plumbing reduce the building’s water use.
