DIC Corp. Office
DIC Corp. Office is an office project in the Thang Tam Ward of Vung Tau City, Vietnam. The project makes use of an existing 7-story hotel construction, retrofitting it to convert it into office space for Development Investment Construction J.S Corporation (DIC Corp.), a local urban development company with a focus on satellite cities using sustainable technology. The project was designed by architect Vo Thanh Lan with ARDOR Green serving as green design consultants.
By incorporating modern technologies such as insulation of the roof, external shading devices, solar photovoltaics, energy-saving appliances such as LED lightbulbs and water-efficient plumbing features, as well as the re-use of most existing wall and roof construction elements, DIC was able to significantly reduce its energy and water consumption, resulting in a more sustainable construction project and a reduced carbon footprint.
DIC Corp. Office has received a Preliminary EDGE Certificate from SGS Vietnam.

Technical Solutions
Energy
Reduced window to wall ratio, external shading devices, insulation for the roof, low-E coated glass, energy-saving lighting in internal and external spaces, and photovoltaics to cover 11.47% of total annual electricity consumption.
Water
Re-use of existing floor slab, composite in-situ concrete and steel deck and re-use of existing roof for roof construction, re-use of existing walls for external and internal walls, cored bricks with plaster on both sides for internal walls, laminated wood and ceramic tiles for flooring, and aluminum window frames.
Materials
In-situ reinforced concrete for the floor and roof and medium weight hollow concrete blocks for internal and external walls.
