Equites Property Fund is constructing a new modern logistics space in Philippi, Cape Town. The space is expected to include a 7,711 square meter warehouse and 361 square meter office building.
Equites Property Fund, the developer of the industrial park, is committed to incorporating sustainable practices into its developments. Equites Property Fund has also EDGE-certified warehouses at its Lords View and Meadowview developments. Ecolution also performed EDGE Expert and EDGE Auditor services for this project.
Equites Philippi Spec has received a preliminary EDGE Advanced certificate from GBCI.
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
Reduced window-to-wall ratio, reflective paint/tiles of the roof, a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system, energy-saving lighting in the sales, corridors, common and external areas, and solar photovoltaics.
Efficient-flush water closets, water-efficient urinals and faucets for kitchen sinks, and aerators/auto shut-off faucets.
In-situ reinforced concrete slab for the floor, steel sheets on steel rafters for the roof, steel profile cladding for external walls, and finished concrete flooring.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
