Gateway International School – Hai Phong Campus
Gateway International School is a leading international school system in Vietnam. The holistic nature of the school’s curriculum encourages social, emotional and academic learning, teaching students to be self-motivated and self-disciplined global citizens.
Gateway International School’s Hai Phong campus was designed to conserve natural resources and lower carbon emissions. A variable refrigerant volume cooling system and energy-saving lighting were installed to reduce the school’s energy use, while dual-flush water closets, water-efficient urinals and low-flow faucets were installed to reduce the school’s water use.
The design of the Hai Phong campus also includes numerous green spaces to provide students with an opportunity to connect with nature. Gardens were planted next to the classrooms, where students study biology, plant trees and engage in experiments. Raising students’ environmental awareness will help shape the next generation’s interaction with the natural world.
The Hai Phong Branch has received an EDGE Advanced certificate from SGS Vietnam.

Technical Solutions
Energy
Reduced window to wall ratio, insulation for the roof and external walls, a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system and energy-saving lighting in internal spaces.
Water
Dual-flush water closets, water-efficient urinals and low-flow faucets.
Materials
In-situ reinforced concrete for the floors and roof and solid dense concrete blocks for internal and external walls.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
