Hampton by Hilton Carolina Park Quito

The Hampton by Hilton Carolina Park is a 12-story hotel in Quito’s financial district. The first 10 floors are home to the Hampton by Hilton Quito’s 135 guest rooms, while Zenith Suites operates 16 serviced apartments on the upper floors. Guests will enjoy the hotel’s many amenities, including modern meeting rooms, a fitness center, and a roof garden with views of the surrounding landscape.

The hotel was designed to utilize resource-efficient design features and technologies to reduce its environmental impact and save on operating costs. LED lighting, an energy-efficient cooling system, and a heat pump for hot water generation will contribute to the building’s energy savings, while water-efficient and low-flow plumbing fixtures will contribute to the building’s water savings.

The hotel was designed by Odd+Architects and will be managed by Hotel Colon International C.A., a pioneer in Ecuador’s hospitality industry.

Hampton by Hilton Quito has received an EDGE Advanced certificate from GBCI.

Energy

Reduced window to wall ratio, insulation of the roof and external walls, a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system, a heat pump for hot water generation, energy-saving lighting in internal and external spaces, and lighting controls for corridors and staircases.

Water

Aerators and auto shut-off faucets, water-efficient water closets and urinals, and low-flow showerheads and faucets.

Materials

In-situ waffle concrete for the floor, in-situ reinforced concrete for the roof, plasterboards on metal studs for internal walls, and in-situ reinforced external walls.

*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
