InterContinental Ha Long Bay is an internationally branded, luxury coastal resort located along the Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The project is being developed by BIM Group, a company committed to incorporating resource-efficient design and technologies into its projects.
InterContinental Ha Long Bay Hotel has received a preliminary EDGE certificate from SGS Vietnam.
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
Reduced window-to-wall ratio, low-E coated glass, an energy-efficient air conditioning system with a water cooled chiller, sensible heat recovery from exhaust air, a heat pump for hot water generation, and energy-saving lighting for internal spaces.
Efficient-flush water closets, water-efficient urinals, low-flow showerheads and faucets for guest rooms, and aerators/auto shut-off faucets.
In-situ reinforced concrete slab for the floor and roof construction, in-situ reinforced internal and external walls, and medium weight hollow concrete blocks for internal walls.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
