MINT Caglayan
Developed as an urban regeneration project by Hun Perakende Enerji ve Inşaat A.S. and designed by AS/OS Architects, MİNT Çağlayan is a high-rise residential building comprised of 129 one, two and three-bedroom apartments in the heart of Istanbul. The property responds to the demand from residents with environmentally-sensitive urban lifestyles.
Created in 2014, the MİNT brand is comprised of projects that are deliberately positioned in the center of the city. The intention is to transform urban environments through differentiated properties that maintain the highest international level of quality and sustainability. A conscientious approach is taken throughout each project’s lifecycle, from the re-cycling of waste during the construction process straight through to providing electric cars with charging stations for residents to rent.
MİNT Çağlayan features carefully controlled glazing with high-performance glass that maximizes natural daylight while restricting the energy required for heating and cooling. Other solutions include LED lighting and water-efficient fixtures. Each household is expected to realize estimated utility cost reductions ranging up to US$26 per month. The building is built of autoclaved aerated concrete blocks, a material that is superior for its low embodied energy.
Beyond the utility savings, residents enjoy easy access to public transportation as well as MİNT Çağlayan’s proximity to medical, commercial, educational and historical facilities such as Istanbul Çağlayan Justice Palace.
MİNT Çağlayan has received final EDGE certification from GBCI.

Technical Solutions
ENERGY
Reduced window to wall ratio, insulation of roof and external walls, higher performance glass, energy-saving lighting systems for internal spaces, common areas and external spaces, and solar hot water collectors.
WATER
Low-flow shower-heads, low-flow faucets in kitchens and bathrooms, and dual-flush water closets.
MATERIALS
Concrete filler slab for roof construction, autoclaved aerated concrete blocks for internal and external walls, and UPVC window frames.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
