Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
Reflective paint/tiles for the roof and external walls, low-E coated glass, energy-saving lighting for internal and external spaces, and solar hot water collectors.
Dual-flush water closets and low-flow showerheads and faucets for kitchen sinks and washbasins.
Concrete filler slab for the floor and roof construction, cellular light weight concrete blocks for internal and external walls, common brick walls with no finish for internal walls, exposed brick walls with internal plaster for external walls, and parquet/wood block and ceramic tile flooring.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
