Located on 25,500 square meters of land, the Ricons Mechanical Processing Plant will produce, repair and process mechanical products to be used for construction activities. Ricons Construction Investment is one of the few construction companies in Vietnam who own their complete value chain, from materials, engineering, consulting, design and construction straight through to real estate investment and building management.
Aligned with Ricons Construction Investment’s commitment to environmental protection, the plant was designed and built with resource-efficient features and technologies. Skylights were incorporated into the design of the plant, providing daylight to more than half of the floor area. Solar photovoltaics, energy-saving lighting and a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system were also installed, reducing the building’s energy usage by over 60 percent.
The plant was designed by ARDOR Architects, a building design consultancy with a focus on incorporating resource-efficient standards into its buildings.
Ricons Mechanical Processing Plant – Phase 1 has received EDGE Advanced certification from SGS Vietnam.
Technical Solutions
Energy
Reduced window to wall ratio, insulation and reflective paint/tiles for the roof, variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system, solar photovoltaics, skylights providing daylight to 50 percent of the floor area and energy-saving lighting in external, sales, corridors and common areas.
Water
Dual flush water closets, water-efficient urinals and auto shut-off faucets.
Materials
In-situ reinforced concrete slabs for the floor and roof, steel sheets on steel rafters, steel profile cladding for external walls, autoclaved aerated concrete blocks for internal and external walls and finished concrete floors.
