Ufficio BJX
EDGE Zero Carbon
Ufficio Arquitectura y Mobiliario has retrofit a former residential unit in the Bajio region of Mexico, converting the space into an office location. Ufficio is an authorized distributor of designer furniture, finishing materials and accessories.
Solar panels were installed to generate power for lighting and other electrical needs, with internal comfort increased through the installation of solar photovoltaics and ceiling fans. The remaining CO2 emissions will be offset to achieve EDGE Zero Carbon certification. The retrofit also included the installation of water-efficient plumbing fixtures and the reuse of walls and floor slab.
Special attention was paid to the preservation of vegetation on the property throughout the construction process.
Ufficio BJX has received EDGE Zero Carbon certification from GBCI.
