Universitas Islam International Indonesia (UIII) or Indonesian International Islamic University (IIIU) is a newly established graduate institution that provides seven schools and offers various academic programs focusing on the study of Islam and the Muslim world. The Library building (Gedung Perpustakaan) symbolizes knowledge, culture and civilization and has achieved preliminary EDGE certification. The Library building has eight floors with a total area of 18,127.62 m2 for a capacity of 1,000 visitors, designed with the concept of a world-class college library.

The dry system facade uses prefabricated marble tile and low-e glass. This building has skylights to maximize daylight so that it can reduce the use of lights during the day. A variable refrigerant volume cooling system and energy-saving lighting were installed to reduce energy use. Recycling water for toilet flushing and water-efficient plumbing fixtures were installed to improve the water savings.

UIII has received an EDGE Preliminary certificate from Green Building Council Indonesia.

Edificio Jorge Hoyos Vasquez P.U.J is a new building on the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana campus in Bogotá. The building will not only serve those new to the campus but will also be open to those throughout the city.

The 10-story building was strategically designed to make use of its surrounding environment, allowing for ample natural light in the morning and natural ventilation using the winds from the nearby mountains. Resource-efficient technologies were also installed to reduce its environmental impact and lower its carbon footprint. An energy-efficient cooling system, external shading devices, occupancy sensors, and LED lighting contribute to the building’s energy savings, while water-efficient landscaping and plumbing fixtures will contribute to the building’s water savings.

Edificio Jorge Hoyos Vasquez P.U.J  is the latest addition to Pontificia Universidad Javeriana’s plan to build and renovate a series of its buildings, increasing the resource efficiency of its campus. Committed to building a sustainable campus, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana has also EDGE-certified the Gerardo Arango S.J. Building – School of Arts and the Research and Laboratories Building of the Faculty of Engineering.

Qwetu Parklands


Qwetu Parklands is a new residential community for students in Nairobi. The community will be home to more than 500 students from various colleges and universities, including the University of Nairobi, Mount Kenya University, Bridge College, Evelyn College of Design, Graffins College, Kenya Institute of Management, and Kenya Methodist University. Students will benefit from the community’s central location, within ten minutes of Nairobi’s central business district.

The residential community will utilize resource-efficient design features and technologies to conserve natural resources, including LED lighting and low-flow plumbing fixtures. The resource-efficient design will also lower the community’s carbon footprint.

The developer of the project, Acorn Holdings Limited (AHL), is committed to developing and managing high quality, affordable, and purpose-built rental accommodation for students. Since 2015, Acorn Holdings Limited (AHL) has worked with Helios Investment Partners, a leading Africa-focused private equity firm, to address the housing-gap in Kenya.
