Equites Park Riverfields is a mixed office and operations complex located in the Riverfields development area, a fast-growing logistics node in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, South Africa. It is comprised of three workshops, a machine test track, and head office.

Equites Park was developed by Equites Property Fund for Sandvik, a global mining and technology company. All four sub-projects comprising Equites Park Riverfields have achieved preliminary EDGE Advanced certification, incorporating resource-efficient technologies such as roof insulation, low-e glassing, energy-saving lightbulbs, and water-efficient plumbing fixtures as well as solar photovoltaics covering 55% of total energy use. These technologies will lower the facility’s operating costs as well as reduce its carbon footprint.

GRUPAK Corrugado Hidalgo – Industria


Grupak, a Mexican company with more than 60 years in the corrugated cardboard packaging and paper industry, has opened a new corrugated packaging plant in Hidalgo.

Resource-efficient technologies and design were incorporated into the plant to reduce energy and water usage. The technologies include reflective paint, insulation, LED lighting, water-efficient plumbing fixtures, and a rainwater harvesting systems. Skylights were also incorporated into the design to provide daylight to more than 50 percent of the floor area.

The new plant is aligned with Grupak’s commitment to sustainable operations and to the care of the environment and available natural resources. Grupak extends this commitment to their products, offering high quality and one hundred percent recyclable goods. The company’s operations system also aligns with the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) scheme, which guarantees their commitment to environmental management. Grupak also operates in Cuernavaca (corrugated paper and packaging plant), Toluca (corrugated packaging plant), Hidalgo (paper and corrugated packaging plant), and with six suppliers for the collection of recycled fiber and offices corporations in Mexico City.

The industrial complex utilizes resource-efficient design features and technologies to reduce its environmental impact and lower its carbon footprint. Reflective paint, roof insulation, a reduced window-to-wall ratio, LED lighting, and a VRV cooling system reduce the complex’s energy use, while water-efficient plumbing fixtures and landscaping reduce the complex’s water use.

Ricons Mechanical Processing Plant-Phase 1


Located on 25,500 square meters of land, the Ricons Mechanical Processing Plant will produce, repair and process mechanical products to be used for construction activities. Ricons Construction Investment is one of the few construction companies in Vietnam who own their complete value chain, from materials, engineering, consulting, design and construction straight through to real estate investment and building management.

Aligned with Ricons Construction Investment’s commitment to environmental protection, the plant was designed and built with resource-efficient features and technologies. Skylights were incorporated into the design of the plant, providing daylight to more than half of the floor area. Solar photovoltaics, energy-saving lighting and a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system were also installed, reducing the building’s energy usage by over 60 percent.

The plant was designed by ARDOR Architects, a building design consultancy with a focus on incorporating resource-efficient standards into its buildings.

Ricons Mechanical Processing Plant – Phase 1 has received EDGE Advanced certification from SGS Vietnam.

The Workshop Laundry Narogong offers a space for PT Cardig Anugra Sarana Bersama, or CAS Facility, to manage its laundry service for its clients. CAS Facility provides facility maintenance and cleaning services for airports, offices, hotels and shopping centers across Indonesia. The laundry workshop is ideally located in Bekasi, providing easy access to Jakarta and many of CAS Facility’s clients. The two-story building has space for washing machines, open areas for ironing and folding, an office, and shipping and receiving areas. The building also conserves natural resources, offering greater comfort for employees while keeping utility bills low.

CAS Facility is a subsidiary of CAS Group, a company known primarily for supporting 16 Indonesian airports with in-flight catering, airplane maintenance and more. CAS Facility joined CAS Group in 2012 as a part of the company’s mission to expand its reach into the service industry beyond airports. Tema Port – Terminal Three

Tema Port – Terminal Three, located in Tema, Ghana, has received final EDGE certification from thinkstep-SGS.

Tema Port – Terminal Three


The Meridian Port Services (MPS) Tema Port connects Ghana’s shipping industry to the rest of West and Central Africa. Its ambitious expansion will accommodate larger ships and improve the harbor’s facilities and equipment, all while focusing on resource efficiency. The EDGE-certified Terminal Three consists of three separate buildings that include a workshop and maintenance building, offices for administrative purposes and offices for the port’s authorities. MPS designed the buildings to maximize the use of natural daylight while implementing technical solutions to reduce the consumption of energy and water.

MPS is a joint venture between the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Bolloré Transport & Logistics and APM Terminals. The company is committed to supporting the sustainable growth of Ghana by investing in the country’s infrastructure with a localized approach. In the expansion of the Tema Port, 95 percent of the materials used will be locally procured and the project will provide over 1,000 jobs for Ghanaians. The expansion of the port is also part of the government’s larger goal to improve Ghana’s trade flows and bring greater economic development to the country. Tema Port – Terminal Three has received final EDGE certification from thinkstep-SGS.

Song Hau Surface Water Plant – Phase One

Estação de tratamento de água de superfície Song Hau – Fase Um

Em resposta ao problema crítico da limpeza e segurança da água no Delta do Mekong, a AquaOne Hau Giang criou uma estação de abastecimento de água potável e tratamento de águas residuais que está entre as instalações mais avançadas do Vietnã. A empresa já investiu mais de 1,9 bilhão de dongs em 15 hectares de terra para a primeira fase da planta industrial, que fornecerá 100.000 m3 de água por dia, tanto para moradores quanto para empresas. Depois que a segunda fase for construída, a capacidade será entre 500.000 a 1.000.000 m3 de água por dia.

Os planos para o futuro preveem uma expansão ainda maior, pois o desejo da AquaOne Hau Giang é tornar-se o principal fornecedor de água para as províncias de Can Tho, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu e Ca Mau. A certificação EDGE ajusta-se bem ao objetivo da empresa de elevar os padrões de vida do povo vietnamita, proporcionando um abastecimento de água confiável da forma mais sustentável possível.

A Fase Um da Estação de Tratamento de Água Song Hau recebeu certificação EDGE Final da SGS Vietnã. Enquanto o complexo também inclui um dormitório verde para os trabalhadores, os números deste estudo de projeto refletem a parcela de indústria ligeira do complexo.
