KSH, a leading warehousing services, logistics and industrial infrastructure development group in India, is developing a new logistic and industrial park in Pune. Located in the heart of Pune’s industrial hub, the KSH Chakan Park II industrial park will feature five warehouses with over 100,500 square meters of customizable logistics space. The park will also feature planned wide roads for easy maneuverability, ample parking spaces, large column spacing, office blocks and canteens.

KSH is committed to helping build a more sustainable future by lowering the environmental impact of its operations. It is demonstrating this commitment by EDGE-certifying all five warehouses on KSH Chakan Park II. Warehouse A1 and A2 will reduce their energy usage by almost half through external shading devices, LED lighting and a reduced window to wall ratio. Dual-flush water closets and water-efficient plumbing fixtures will also be installed to reduce the warehouses’ water usage.

DHA Garment, one of the fastest growing garment export companies in Vietnam, has developed a new factory in Hoang Hoa. The Daehan Global Thanh Hoa Factory produces high-quality clothing for popular American and European brands, using 350 single-needle machines, 16 double-needle chain stitch machines, 80 double-needle lock stitch machines and 320 overlock machines.

The Daehan Global Thanh Hoa Factory utilizes resource-efficient design features and technologies to reduce its environmental impact and save on operating costs. LED lighting, insulation of the roof and solar photovoltaics reduce the building’s energy use, while dual-flush water closets and water-efficient urinals reduce the building’s water use. The factory’s outside walls are also painted in white to maximize solar heat reflectance.

The Daehan Global Thanh Hoa Factory has received final EDGE certification from SGS Vietnam.

Arista Logispace, a part of Arista Group in Ahmedabad, has developed a new logistic and industrial park in Jalisana. Capable of accommodating over 300,000 square meters of modern logistics space, Arista Industrial Park can meet a diverse set of business needs.

Aligned with Arista Logispace’s commitment to a greener tomorrow, the Arista Industrial Park Warehouse was built as an example of resource-efficiency in the industrial sector. Solar photovoltaics, energy-saving lighting and roof insulation were installed to reduce the building’s energy use, while water-efficient plumbing and a grey water treatment and recycling system were installed to reduce the building’s water use. Skylights were also incorporated into the design of the warehouse, providing daylight to half of the floor area.

Bodega Fomeque

Bodega Fomeque  has received a preliminary EDGE certificate from CAMACOL.

Bodega Fomeque

Each morning, over 12,000 tons of food are distributed at the Corporación de Abastos de Bogotá (Corabastos) market. As the second largest food market in Latin America, Corabastos contains about 80 “bodegas,” or warehouses, in total feeding more than 12 million Colombians per day. When one of the warehouses, Bodega Fomeque, began to suffer serious structural damage from the neighboring La Vaca wetlands, Corabastos enlisted the help of Concesionaria Covial SA to rebuild the warehouse using sustainable methods.

The new Bodega Fomeque building is more structurally sound while aiming to minimize harm to the natural environment. Sustainable construction materials such as honeycomb clay blocks, finished concrete flooring, and steel-clad sandwich panels were all carefully chosen, resulting in a reduction of 77% embodied energy in materials. The building saves energy through measures such as a skylight that provides natural daylight to 50% of the top floor area and energy-efficient lighting, while auto-shut off and water-efficient faucets reduce water consumption.

Concesionaria Covial SA has worked with Corabastos to modernize its roads, technological infrastructure, aqueduct network, and more. As a company committed to sustainability, Concesionaria Covial SA ensures that its projects are improving the community’s economic, social and environmental wellbeing. The company also advocates for the inclusion of green spaces in its projects so that its clients can enjoy the natural outdoors. At Corabastos, these green spaces have been a central piece of the market’s redevelopment.

ALP North

ALP North, located in Nairobi, Kenya, has received final EDGE certification from thinkstep-SGS.

Based in a region where moving goods can cost two to three times higher than in developed countries, Africa Logistics Properties (ALP) has a vision for a more sustainable warehouse industry. The company’s environmentally-friendly ALP North Logistics Park is the first modern grade-A logistics and distribution park in Kenya. Located in northern Nairobi at the Tatu Industrial Park, ALP North sits on 22 acres and consists of three warehouses with a total of 50,000 square meters of leasable space. The park is ideally located with access to both the Thika superhighway and Eastern bypass, providing easy access to Nairobi. Tenants at the ALP North project include major retailers such as Copia, one of Kenya’s largest e-commerce companies. The warehouse has won Best Logistics/Industrial Development at the 9th annual African Property Investment (API) Summit and Expo in 2018.

By certifying its warehouses with EDGE, ALP conserves natural resources, reduces operating costs and provides a more comfortable work environment for its tenants. ALP North’s solar panels and reflective paint reduce energy usage while water-efficient faucets and landscaping conserve water. The LatAm Parque Logístico Lima Sur consists of three warehouses located in a logistics park in the valley of Lima’s Lurin district that has received a preliminary EDGE certificate from GBCI.

O Parque Logístico LatAm Lima Sur é composto por três depósitos situados em um parque logístico no vale do distrito de Lurin, Província de Lima. Os depósitos construídos pela LatAm Logistic Properties fornecerão um espaço moderno para a logística e distribuição em um centro urbano em desenvolvimento do Peru. Cada depósito terá aproximadamente 22.000 m². A economia em serviços públicos está projetada para 13.000 sóis peruanos ao mês.

Quase 16.000 metros quadrados do projeto estão destinados a jardins e áreas verdes. A propriedade terá sua própria estação de tratamento de água negra. Toda a água negra gerada será reutilizada para irrigação das áreas verdes. Os depósitos também terão claraboias em todos os telhados. O uso de apenas 3% das claraboias garantirá luz suficiente para a operação durante o dia.
