ProCredit Bank Bulgaria Head Office


The Head Office of ProCredit Bank Bulgaria is the first building in the ProCredit Group to achieve EDGE Zero Carbon certification. Zero Carbon status is awarded to EDGE-certified projects that have offset 100% of their operational emissions and have reached at least 40% energy savings onsite compared to a base case building. This achievement reflects ProCredit’s strategy of reducing its environmental impact through various measures.

LED lighting, insulation, energy-efficient cooling and ventilation systems, sensible heat recovery from exhaust air, and a solar photovoltaic plant were installed in the office to achieve 50 percent onsite energy savings. The remaining CO2 emissions will be offset through biogas production from the local wastewater treatment plant.

The ProCredit Group is made up of development-oriented commercial banks operating in Southeastern and Eastern Europe and South America. The group is committed to minimizing the impact of its lending operations and encouraging its clients to invest in an environmentally-responsible way.

The Promenade

The Promenade


The Promenade is a multi-tenant commercial office building in the Westlands area of Nairobi. The seven-story building offers high quality office and retail accommodation for tenants looking for a sustainable and flexible working environment. Tenants also enjoy the building’s generous balconies and breakout areas, which provide space for relaxation and provide an opportunity to connect with the surrounding landscape.

The commercial building utilizes resource-efficient design features and technologies to reduce its environmental impact and lower its operating costs. Higher thermal performance glass, LED lighting, and occupancy sensors were installed to reduce the building’s energy use, while low-flow and water-efficient plumbing fixtures were installed to reduce the building’s water use.

The building’s developer, Krystal Investment Ltd, was committed to improving the resource efficiency of the Promenade, especially regarding the building’s water usage. As the water demand in Nairobi has skyrocketed due to ever increasing modernization and construction in the city, a water-efficient building has become essential. The building was also designed by Symbion architects and constructed by Parbat Seyani.

The Promenade has received final EDGE certification from GBCI.

A.Shridhar Athens


Athens is a new 13-story office and retail building in Ahmedabad, which is one of 100 cities in India to be designated a Smart City under the government’s Smart Cities Mission. Offices, starting at 618 square feet, are available for rent, as is ample retail space. Tenants will enjoy the building’s contemporary features and strategic location.

Athens will utilize resource-efficient design features and technologies to reduce its environmental impact and lower its carbon footprint. A multitude of energy and water saving solutions will be installed, including high thermal performance glass, LED lighting, a VRV cooling system, water-efficient and low-flow plumbing fixtures, and a black water treatment and recycling system. The energy and water savings will lower tenants’ utility bills, reducing their operating costs.

The developer, A.Shridhar Group, brings together a vision of sustainability, power, and thoughtful design in its projects. The architect, 99 Studio, is one of the top architects in Ahmedabad, known for incorporating sustainability into its designs. Working with the engineering team, 99 Studio made design choices that reduced the amount of concrete used in the structure and adjusted the design to be North facing, which reduced the building’s solar gain. By working all together, the developer, architect, and engineers were able to create a sustainable icon for the city.

Athens has received a preliminary EDGE certificate from GBCI.  The offices portion of the building has achieved an EDGE Advanced certificate, achieving energy savings of over 40 percent.

The Le Parc project is a new building complex in Quito, ideally located on República del Salvador street in the financial center of the city. The project’s two 18-story towers will incorporate the existing Hotel Le Parc and will include space for homes and offices. A vertical mixed organizational system and independent fixed points of entry will differentiate the spaces.

The redesigned Hotel Le Parc will serve as example of resource efficiency for the hospitality industry in Ecuador. Guests of the hotel, whether in Quito for business or leisure, will enjoy the property’s numerous amenities.

The complex will utilize resource-efficient design features and technologies to reduce its environmental impact and lower its carbon footprint. The hotel and accompanying spaces will use a multitude of technologies such as high-performance glass, LED lighting, solar photovoltaics, water-efficient plumbing fixtures, and a rainwater harvesting system to save energy and water.

The promoter for the project, Commonplace/Gabriela Sommerfeld, was determined to develop the complex and restore Hotel Le Parc in an environmentally friendly way. Christian Wiese Architects, Adriana Hoyos Design Studio, and Arch-Bio Company were enlisted to include green features in the design and construction of the property.

Hotel Le Parc has received an EDGE Advanced certificate from GBCI.

The Justice Department of Costa Rica has opened a new courthouse in Los Chiles, Alajuela. Resource-efficient design features and technologies have been incorporated into the courthouse to reduce its environmental impact and to save on operating costs. External shading devices, a variable refrigerant volume cooling system, and energy-saving lighting were installed to reduce the building’s energy use, while water-efficient plumbing fixtures were installed to reduce the building’s water use. A rainwater harvesting and a blackwater and recycling system were also installed, allowing the courthouse to achieve water savings of over 98 percent.

The courthouse aligns with the Justice Department’s commitment to the environment and plan to certify to the resource efficiency of new construction.

Tribunales de Justicia Los Chiles has received final EDGE certification from the Green Building Council of Costa Rica.
