Hotel Lagoon Llanogrande
The Hotel Lagoon Llanogrande is a perfect mix among work, health, fine cuisine, fun and relaxation. Ideally located in the Llanogrande sector of Rionegro, guests enjoy the peace and tranquility of the area’s green landscape, while only 10 minutes from José María Córdova International Airport and 20 minutes from the city of Medellín. The hotel features views of the nearby 19,600 square meter lake, gourmet restaurants, swimming pools and more.
The hotel utilizes resource-efficient design features and technologies to reduce its environmental impact and save on operating costs. LED lighting, external shading devices and an energy-efficient air conditioning system reduce the building’s energy use, while low-flow showerheads, dual-flush water closets and water-efficient appliances reduce the building’s water use.
Hotel Lagoon Llanogrande is operated as a part of the Las Américas Hotels Group chain, bringing more than 40 years of experience in successful 5-star hotels and specialized staffing. The hotel’s developer, Conaltura, built Hotel Lagoon Llanogrande as an example of its commitment to the sustainable development of the region. Mindful of the environmental impacts of its projects, Conaltura has also EDGE-certified its residential project Arizá Torre 2.
Hotel Lagoon has received final EDGE certification from CAMACOL.
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
Reduced window to wall ratio, external shading devices, insulation of the roof, a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system, energy-saving lighting in internal, external spaces and back-of-house spaces, lighting controls for corridors and staircases and occupancy sensors in bathrooms.
Dual-flush water closets in guest rooms and all other bathrooms, water-efficient urinals in all other bathrooms, low-flow showerheads and water-efficient dishwashers, kitchen faucets and landscaping.
In-situ waffle concrete slab for the floor, aluminum-clad sandwich panel for the roof, cored bricks with plaster on both sides for internal walls, and common brick walls with internal and external plaster and medium weight hollow concrete blocks for external walls.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
