The Campus – Streatley Avenue Student Residence

The Campus – Streatley Avenue Student Residence

The Campus is a student housing project located in Johannesburg, South Africa, being developed by Century Property Developments.

Century Property Developments originated in 1975, primarily as a developer of shopping centres, and has since diversified into exclusive residential estates and commercial developments.

The Campus student accommodation is one of the most sought-after student accommodation developments located in Auckland Park, which is on the doorstep of UJ (University of Johannesburg) and around the corner from WITS (University of the Witwatersrand). It is conveniently situated adjacent to Campus Square Shopping Centre.
The Campus consists of 852 individual private rooms – all of which are en-suite. Resident students can choose between sharing a lounge and kitchen with like-minded individuals, or they could have a dedicated kitchen for their unit, at the end of their floor’s passage. Facilities in this development include indoor soccer, basket ball courts, games rooms, a rooftop swimming pool, a private gym with studio, laundromat, computer lab and communal study areas for those wanting to escape their private study area in their rooms.
It is an easy walk to class or the numerous shops in the area, but those lucky enough to have their own wheels can make use of the 2 levels of under-cover, basement parking which caters for 166 vehicles.
Sustainability is also core to operations and The Campus is fitted out with energy efficient lamps, low flow fixtures, greywater recycling, centralised gas boilers and solar PV. These technologies have lowered the facility’s operating costs whilst reducing its carbon footprint.

The Campus has received final EDGE Certification from Green Building Council South Africa.
