The role of EDGE EO&M
The EDGE Executive Operations and Management (EO&M) Team, composed of staff from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), is responsible for the development, central administration, and global oversight of the EDGE program.
The roles and responsibilities of the EO&M Team include the following:
1. Technical Development and Maintenance
- EDGE App and IT Platform: Developing and maintaining the global EDGE software, including technical data points, materials, and calculation methodologies.
- User Documentation: Creating and updating the EDGE User Guides, manuals, and training materials.
- Global Baseline Management: Updating global assumptions and methodologies used to calculate building performance.
2. Governance and Protocol Management
- Protocol Development: Developing the EDGE Protocol and managing periodic updates to ensure global consistency and credibility.
- Strategy and Input: Defining the global strategy for EDGE certification and seeking input from Interested Parties, including the Advisory Board, during update processes.
3. Licensing and Quality Assurance
- Affiliate Licensing: Licensing Certification Providers, EDGE Faculty, and EDGE Experts.
- Audits and Monitoring: Conducting regular audits of Certification Providers to ensure they operate according to the EDGE Protocol.
- Database Management: Maintaining a publicly available worldwide database of active EDGE Faculty and EDGE Experts.
4. Training and Support Services
- Training Materials: Developing global training programs and exams for Experts and reviewing any local adaptations of these materials for specific territories.
- Query Resolution: Handling technical queries and supporting Certification Providers in responding to complex questions from project teams.
5. Administration and Brand Management
- Budget and Fundraising: Preparing the budget for central administration to support global program activities.
- Marketing and Brand Integrity: Developing global marketing materials and managing the EDGE brand, including approving marketing content created by EDGE Affiliates.
EDGE Advisory Board
The role of EDGE Advisory Board
The EDGE Advisory Board is a voluntary, independent expert body that provides strategic guidance and technical input to EDGE Operations and Management (EO&M) team. Its core function is to review, challenge, and respond to proposals put forward by the management team, ensuring that EDGE’s standards, tools, and direction remain technically sound, globally relevant, and aligned with evolving best practices in sustainable construction and the built environment. By bringing together professionals with diverse expertise and geographic perspectives, spanning climate finance, decarbonization, embodied carbon, building physics, resilience, and more, the Advisory Board acts as a trusted check and balance that strengthens the integrity and impact of the EDGE program.

We are pleased to announce that applications for the Advisory Board are now open.
Who should apply?
We welcome applications from professionals with expertise in areas such as climate finance, decarbonization, embodied carbon, circularity, building physics, resilience, energy and water benchmarking, and facilities or energy management. Geographic diversity and gender balance are key considerations in the selection process. Candidates are assessed on an individual basis — there are no invitations, and all applications receive equal consideration.
What to expect as a member?
Board members commit to up to three virtual meetings per year, each approximately two hours long and serve an initial term of three years with the possibility of one renewal. Participation is entirely voluntary and unpaid.

Interested individuals are invited to submit their application through the official application form. Applications are open until May 8, 2026, at midnight Eastern Time. Candidates will be notified of the outcome within 10 working days following the closing date.
