Not clear what an EDGE Subproject is? Where a Project is defined as the whole building or development submitted for EDGE certification (with the same certifier and owner), a subproject refers to a distinct portion of a project that is modeled individually in the EDGE App. For example, a subproject could be a warehouse building from a logistic park project, a typology within a residential development or a group of multi-typologies within a residential building, or an office building from an office complex. Every project has minimum one subproject. Each subproject is assessed separately through its own EDGE Assessment, focusing solely on the portion being evaluated to verify that it meets the standard for energy, water and low-carbon materials.
Not clear what a Preliminary and Post-construction Certificate is, and which one is applicable to you? A preliminary certificate is issued to projects at design phase. It certifies that the design of the project meets the EDGE standard. A post-construction certificate is issued after the construction has been complete. If you have an existing building or a building under-construction or recently built, you may choose to go straight for post-construction certification. For new developments, we recommend pursuing a preliminary and post-construction certificate.
