Edificio Bruxxel is located in the Altos neighborhood of Riomar, in the northeast of Barranquilla. The 56-unit apartment building will feature common areas for residents to enjoy and each unit will be equipped with smart-technology for home automation.
Resource-efficient technologies and materials will also be incorporated into the building. External shading devices and LED lighting will contribute to the building’s energy savings, while dual flush water closets and low-flow faucets will contribute to the building’s water savings. The apartments will be built with insulated internal walls to provide thermo-comfort to the inhabitants and reduce the need for air conditioning.
Edificio Bruxxel is an example of Solider Constructora’s commitment to generating positive change in the construction industry that aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which include sustainable cities and communities, affordable and clean energy, and climate action. Solider Constructora has also certified Edificio Biel.
Edificio Bruxxel has received a preliminary EDGE certificate from CAMACOL.
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
Reduced window to wall ratio, external shading devices, energy-saving lighting in internal and external spaces and lighting controls for corridors and staircases.
Dual flush water closets and low-flow showerheads and faucets for kitchen sinks and washbasins.
In-situ trough concrete slabs for the floor and roof, cored bricks with internal and external plaster for external walls and 3-D wire panel with “shot-crete” on both sides for internal and external walls.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
