Edificio EPS Sanitas
The EPS Sanitas healthcare facility is expanding Colombians’ access to primary care in Bucaramanga. The eight-floor facility features 64 medical offices, two procedure rooms and a respiratory therapy room. A member of the Keralty Group, a multinational health company, EPS Sanitas’ new facility was built to meet all international health standards.
Resource-efficient design and technologies were incorporated into the healthcare facility to save on operating costs. LED lighting, higher thermal performance glass, reflective paint and an energy-efficient cooling system were installed to reduce the facility’s energy use, while water-efficient plumbing fixtures were installed to reduce the facility’s water use.
OTACC, a leading engineering and construction firm in the region, built the EPS Sanitas facility to serve as an example of efficiency. By using pre-manufactured materials, OTACC was able to complete construction in 12 months and reduce the embodied energy in materials for the project.
Edificio EPS Sanitas has received final EDGE certification from CAMACOL.
