Equites Park Meadowview – Altron
Altron, a leading information and technology (ICT) company in South Africa, has opened a new facility at Equites Property Fund’s Meadowview industrial park. Situated next to the N3 highway in Johannesburg, Meadowview can accommodate development opportunities ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 square meters.
Resource-efficient design and technologies were incorporated into the warehouse for Altron to conserve natural resources. LED lighting and solar photovoltaics were installed to reduce the warehouse’s energy use, while dual-flush water closets and water-efficient faucets were installed to reduce the warehouse’s water use. The resource efficiency of the warehouse is a manifestation of Altron’s commitment to reduce the environmental impacts of its infrastructure.
Equites Property Fund, the developer of the industrial park, is committed to incorporating sustainable practices into its developments. Equites Property Fund has also EDGE-certified two warehouses at its Lords View development. Ecolution also performed EDGE Expert and EDGE Auditor services for this project.
Equites Park Meadowview – Altron has received final EDGE certification from GBCI.
Technical Solutions
Energy
Reduced window-to-wall ratio, low e-coated glass, a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system, solar photovoltaics, and energy-saving lighting in the sales, common, and corridor areas.
Water
Water-efficient water closets, urinals, and faucets for kitchen sinks.
Materials
In-situ reinforced concrete slab for the floor, steel sheets on steel rafters for the roof, and precast concrete panels and steel profile cladding for external walls.
