Equites Park Riverfields is a mixed office and operations complex located in the Riverfields development area, a fast-growing logistics node in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, South Africa. It is comprised of three workshops, a machine test track, and head office.
Equites Park was developed by Equites Property Fund for Sandvik, a global mining and technology company. All four sub-projects comprising Equites Park Riverfields have achieved preliminary EDGE Advanced certification, incorporating resource-efficient technologies such as roof insulation, low-e glassing, energy-saving lightbulbs, and water-efficient plumbing fixtures as well as solar photovoltaics covering 55% of total energy use. These technologies will lower the facility’s operating costs as well as reduce its carbon footprint.
Equites Park Riverfields has received a Preliminary EDGE Advanced Certificate from Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI).

Technical Solutions
Energy
Reduced window to wall ratio, insulation of roof, low emissivity coated glass, and energy-saving light bulbs for internal spaces and solar photovoltaics.
Water
Low-flow faucets, efficient flush for water closets and water-efficient urinals in all bathrooms, water efficient kitchen faucets.
Materials
Plasterboards on metal studs for internal walls, common bricks with internal and external plaster for external walls and in-situ reinforced concrete slab for floor and roof.
