Equites Property Fund has constructed a new modern logistics space in Philippi, Cape Town. The space includes a 7,711 square meter warehouse and 361 square meter office building.
Equites Property Fund, the developer of the industrial park, is committed to incorporating sustainable practices into its developments. Equites Property Fund has also EDGE-certified warehouses at its Lords View and Meadowview developments. Ecolution also performed EDGE Expert and EDGE Auditor services for this project.
Through the use of state-of-the-art construction technologies such as reflective painting of the roof, a variable refrigerant (VRV) cooling system, energy-saving LED lightbulbs, solar photovoltaics covering 46% of the building’s electricity consumption, and water-efficient plumbing features, the project was able to significantly reduce its energy and water consumption, as well as energy embodied in materials, resulting in a more sustainable construction project and a reduced carbon footprint.
Equites Philippi Spec has received Final EDGE Advanced Certification from Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI).

Efficient-flush water closets, water-efficient urinals and faucets for kitchen sinks, and aerators/auto shut-off faucets.
Materials
In-situ reinforced concrete slab for floor, steel sheets on steel rafters for roof construction, steel profile cladding for external walls, finished concrete floor for flooring, and aluminum window frames.
