ICONO Centro Empresarial
ICONO Centro Empresarial is a nine-story office building in Armenia in the department of Quindío, Colombia, which has been designed to provide a safe and comfortable work space for its occupants.
The office building will utilize resource-efficient design features and technologies to reduce the building’s energy and water use. Natural ventilation, reflective tiles on the roof and solar panels will contribute to the building’s energy savings, while water-efficient faucets and dual-flush water closets will contribute to the building’s water savings.
The developer of the project, Jaramillo Arango Constructora, designed ICONO Centro Empresarial to serve as an example of resource-efficiency for the region. For more than 18 years, Jaramillo Arango Constructora has contributed to the development of Quindío with innovative and transformative projects.
ICONO Centro Empresarial has received a preliminary EDGE certificate from CAMACOL.
Technical Solutions
Energy
Reflective paint and tiles for the roof, solar photovoltaics and natural ventilation with operable windows.
Water
Low-flow faucets and dual-flush water closets in bathrooms and water-efficient faucets for kitchen sinks.
Materials
In-situ trough concrete slabs for floors and roof, honeycomb clay blocks with plaster on both sides and cement fibre boards on metal studs for internal walls, exposed core (with holes) bricks with internal plaster and honeycomb clay blocks with internal and external plaster for external walls, and finished concrete and ceramic tile flooring.
