La Prosperidad – Fontana 5
Fontana 5 is a housing project located in the Prosperidad development, located in Madrid, Colombia, about 15 kilometers outside of Bogotá. It consists of a total of 96 apartments with an average floor space of 60 square meters.
The project was developed by AR Construcciones, a local real estate development company with over 40 years of experience and a focus on innovative, client-oriented construction projects.
By incorporating modern construction technologies such as external shading devices, natural ventilation systems, the use of energy-saving appliances such as LED lightbulbs and lighting controls and water-efficient plumbing features, the project was able to significantly reduce its energy and water consumption, resulting in a more sustainable construction project and a reduced carbon footprint.
Fontana 5 has received a Preliminary EDGE Certificate from the Colombian Chamber of Construction (CAMACOL).

Reduced window to wall ratio, external shading devices, natural ventilation, energy-saving light bulbs for external and internal spaces, and lighting controls for common spaces and outdoors.

Low-flow showerheads, low-flow faucets for kitchen sinks and all bathrooms, and single flush for water closets.
Materials
In-situ reinforced wall and honeycomb clay blocks with internal & external plaster for internal and external walls, in-situ reinforced concrete slabs for floor construction, micro concrete tiles on steel rafters for roof construction, ceramic and terracotta tiles for flooring, and aluminum window frames.
