Lapacho Roga is a single-family house located in the Virgen del Huerto neighborhood of Asuncion, Paraguay. It has two levels, in which the kitchen, dining room, social room and services are located on the first floor. On the second floor the house has three bedrooms with their respective bathrooms. The project was designed by Pro Arquitectos and developed and constructed by PM Ingenieria, a local engineering firm.

To reduce the energy consumption, the house has LED lights and energy-efficient cooling systems. Also, the upper slab has thermal insulation with expanded polystyrene to reduce heat gain in the house. The walls of the house are almost entirely made of 3D panels with projected cementitious plaster and are painted in a light color, which also helps to reduce heat gain.

To reduce the water consumption in the sanitary facilities, the kitchen and bathroom have low flow faucets, toilets have double flushes and showerheads are also low flow.

The structure of the house has tube foundations and reinforced concrete foundation beams, the pillars are made from I-beams and from concrete, and the both levels have a concrete slab as a cover.

Reduced window to wall ratio, reflective paint for the roof and external walls, insulation for roof, and a variable refrigerant volume (VRV) cooling system.


Low-flow showerheads, low-flow faucets for kitchen sinks and washbasins, and dual flush for water closets.


In-situ reinforced concrete slab for floor and roof construction, common brick walls with internal & external plaster for external walls, 3-D wire panel with ‘shot-crete’ on both sides for external and internal walls, ceramic tiles and parquet/wood block finishes for flooring, and aluminum window frames.
