Me is a 96-unit apartment complex in the Achumani neighborhood of La Paz. It is the first project developed by Niemeyer Soluciones Habitacionales to be certified with EDGE. The company designed the building utilizing resource-efficient design and technologies to encourage residents to live in harmony with the surrounding environment.
Me has received a preliminary EDGE certificate from GBCI.
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
Reflective paint for external walls, insulation of the roof and external walls, low-E coated glass, energy efficient refrigeration and washing machines, energy-saving lighting in internal and external spaces, lighting controls for corridors and staircases, and solar photovoltaics.
Dual-flush water closets and low-flow showerheads and faucets for kitchen sinks and washbasins.
Concrete filler slab with polystyrene blocks for the floor and roof construction, cored bricks with plaster for internal and external walls, solid dense concrete blocks for external walls, and ceramic tile and vinyl flooring.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
