Obramax Rio Benfica
Integrated into the Adeo group, Obramax is the 1st construction wholesaler open to everyone in Brazil and started its operation in 2018, in the Mooca neighborhood in São Paulo. Obramax Rio Benfica is the brand’s third store, being the first outside the state of São Paulo, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Founded in 1923, the Adeo Group has become the third largest retailer of building materials in the world, with more than 900 stores and annual sales of more than 30 billion euros. Locations in Cambuci and Praia Grande were also EDGE certified.
As sustainability is one of the main pillars of the Adeo group, they embarked on a search to find a way to certify their buildings as sustainable.
For this, measures to reduce resource consumption were adopted: 1/4 of the coverage area contributes a total of 150m³ of of water for reuse. All air conditioning equipment was chosen based on energy efficiency, helping to lower the store’s energy consumption. More efficient construction materials were selected based on the same metrics. Water flow reducers and smart meters allow for greater control over water and energy consumption.
Obramax Rio Benfica has received a Preliminary EDGE Certificate from Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) .
