Praça Marajoara
Praça Marajoara is complex of 3, 9-story residential buildings located in the South of São Paulo, Brazil. The project features a total of 204 apartments with an average floor space of 59 square meters. It was was developed by Grupo Kallas and Paladin Reality, with EDGE services provided by Daniela Corcuera.
To meet international standards for resource efficiency, energy and water-saving technologies were incorporated into the design, construction and internal processes of the building. External shading devices, LED lighting and lighting controls reduce the building’s energy use, while water-efficient plumbing fixtures reduce its water consumption, yielding a more sustainable project overall and allowing residents to benefit from 20% lower utility costs.
Praça Marajoara has received Final EDGE Certification from Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI).
Technical Solutions
Energy
Reduced window to wall ratio, external shading devices, energy-saving light bulbs in internal and external spaces as well as lighting controls for corridors and staircases.
Water
Low-flow showerheads, faucets for kitchen sinks and washbasins as well as dual flush for water closets.
Materials
Medium weight hollow concrete blocks for internal and external walls, reinforced concrete slab for floors and roof construction as well aluminum window frames.
