Student Accommod8, an African developer and operator of purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), has achieved EDGE Certification for its Iroko House project, a 96-unit student hostel development on 6,225 square meters of land located at the State College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Iguoriakhi, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.
Student Accommod8 has similarly received an EDGE Certificate for its Oak House project, a 192-unit student housing development on 12,450 square meters of land located at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, Osun State, Nigeria.
Key features of the projects include energy efficient lighting, lighting controls, smart meters, and water efficient sanitary appliances.
According to founder and chief executive; Abayaomi Onasanya; ‘It is Student Accommod8’s intention for future projects to support sustainable development. It is our goal to ensure that projects are designed with sustainability at its core by adopting building technologies, recognised as being ‘green’ as well as investment worthy. With EDGE-certified buildings, end users and other stakeholders are assured that our projects are considering the impacts of the structural/technological activities on the climate, environment, and most importantly, humans in each of the 3 key phases – design, development, and operation.
Student Accommod8 has received a Preliminary EDGE Certificate from SGS-Sintali for Iroko House and Oak House.
