Tacurumbí Parque Residencial
Tacurumbí Parque Residencial is a social housing project located on the Pan-American Highway in the municipality of Quimbaya in Quindío, Colombia. The apartment complex, which has two towers with 80 and 40 apartments each, is part of the national housing ministry’s program, “Mi Casa Ya.” The property is located within the Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia, an area where coffee production happens on steep landscapes.
The developers of the project, Constructora y Comercializadora Poporo SAS, are dedicated to achieving a sustainable construction ecosystem. They believe that change is in all of our hands and that in making small decisions, we can achieve transformation towards a more sustainable world. The company “will respond to the challenge of sustainability, knowing that if we do our part, we will honor our ancestors and be responsible to future generations.”
Tacurumbí Parque Residencial has received final EDGE certification from CAMACOL.
Predicted Savings of EDGE Certification
Less Embodied Energy in Materials
Reflective paint or tiles for external walls and energy-saving lighting for internal and external spaces and common areas.
Low-flow showerheads, low-flow faucets for kitchen sinks and bathrooms, and water-efficient water closets.
In-situ reinforced wall for internal and external walls and finished concrete flooring.
*Part of the energy efficiency percentage may be associated with virtual energy for comfort depending on the presence of heating and cooling systems. Note that virtual energy does not contribute savings to utility bills.
