Tienda Inglesa Car One
Tienda Inglesa Car One is a supermarket project located in Ciudad de la Costa, Uruguay. The project was developed as part of the Tienda Inglesa chain, operating supermarkets across Uruguay. Tienda Inglesa Car One is the first project to achieve EDGE certification in Uruguay.
In order to reach this level of sustainability, a number of state-of-the-art energy and resource efficiency technologies were incorporated into the design, construction and operations of the building. Tienda Inglesa Car One has LED lighting throughout the facilities, intelligent energy measurement systems and wireless sensors to record the concentration of CO2 in common areas. In addition, there are dual-flush toilets, auto-shutoff faucets and aerators for bathrooms and kitchen, highly efficient refrigerated display cabinets and air economizers during favorable outdoor weather conditions, generating significant savings in energy and water.
Tienda Inglesa Car One has received a Preliminary EDGE Certificate from Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI).
