Valle Azul #30
Valle Azul is a residential complex in Guácima de Alajuela that is being developed by the Housing Promotion Foundation through a subsidy from the National Housing Financial System of Costa Rica. The complex is made up of 102, two-unit homes, of which building #30 has been EDGE certified. Unit #30 is home to two families, providing the residents with ample privacy.
Resource-efficient design features and technologies were incorporated into the home, including a reduced window-to-wall ratio, natural ventilation, LED lighting, and low-flow plumbing fixtures. The home was also built with a modular construction system of Ecoblocks that contain a percentage of recycled plastic.
This project has also been developed in conjunction with FUPROVI, which supports lower-income families in solving their housing and community development needs.
Valle Azul #30 has received final EDGE certification from the Green Building Council of Costa Rica (GBCCR).
